Easy Drop Biscuits
Easy Drop Biscuits

During the weekends I have more time to bake and cook. This makes it fun to create things that take a little more time. Biscuits and gravy is one of my all time favorite breakfast dishes. It’s not hard to make but its better with fresh homemade biscuits.

The following recipe is pretty simple. I’ve adapted it from a recipe I found online.

These drop biscuits go great with biscuits and gravy.

Here is how I make easy drop biscuits.

First, gather the ingredients.

Easy Drop BiscuitsSecond, place the following in a mixing bowl.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour.
  • 1 tablespoons granulated sugar.
  • 1 tablespoons baking powder.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Easy Drop BiscuitsWhisk together the dry ingredients.

Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter.

Measure 1 cup of milk.

Add the milk to the dry ingredients.

Easy Drop Biscuits

Pour in the melted butter.

Mix until dough forms.

Easy Drop BiscuitsDrop dough onto cookie sheet. I prefer larger biscuits so this recipe makes 6 nice large biscuits.

Bake at 420 degrees for 8-12 minutes or until they start to brown on the top. Tip, for the last minute and an half move the cookie sheet to the upper rack of your oven. This will brown the tops of the biscuits nicely.

The finished product.

What do you use your drop biscuits for? Do you like biscuits and gravy? Do you get fancy and add cheese or other ingredients to your biscuits? I need some fancy variations please comment and share below.
