Fueling the Retail Grind: RXBAR No B.S. Nut Butter & Oats Review

December 28, 2025 By David Gates

Heads up! This article contains affiliate links. If you choose to purchase a similar product through one of the links below, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I genuinely use or would recommend.

A 14-count variety pack box of RXBAR Nut Butter & Oat bars from Costco, featuring Honey Cinnamon and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors.

Sometimes, the best finds in the Costco aisles are the ones you didn’t go in for. On December 18, 2025, I swung by my local warehouse with a simple mission: replace a container of fancy peanuts my son had polished off. But as any Costco veteran knows, you rarely leave with just one thing.

Working retail is a marathon. Between the manual labor and being on your feet all day, the hunger hits hard. Personally, I’m the type who prefers to power through my shift—I find that if I actually sit down for a full lunch, it’s twice as hard to get my “old ass” back up and moving again! I prefer to just power through my shifts without sitting down. I need something quick, portable, and substantial enough to keep the engine running without the post-sugar-crash slump.

I usually grab standard granola or nut bars, but this visit told me to try something new. So, I picked out this RXBAR No B.S. Nut Butter & Oats two-flavor combo box.

Not near a Costco or don’t have a membership. These RX BARS can also be purchased online. Shop now!

The Breakdown: Value and Variety

As usual, I like to remind myself of the time, date, and cost of the items I’m reviewing. I hope it helps you in some small way too. This box of 14 bars was $17.99. Let’s round up and call it $18.00; this puts the unit cost around **$1.29 per bar**. Side note, this is the last year the United States Mint is producing the Lincoln cent. 🙁  I imagine retailers will start rounding up prices in the near future also.

The box features two distinct flavors:

  • Honey Cinnamon Peanut Butter (My personal favorite!)

  • Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter

The Taste Test: Hard Work for the Blog!

I bet you’re asking how I selected the Honey Cinnamon Peanut Butter bar as my favorite if this is the first time I’ve had them. Well, that is a good question! In order to write and photograph the work for this article, naturally, I had to open each one and taste the product.

Food photography is hard work, man. But it was worth it considering I’ve been eating a lot of yogurt for those Chobani reviews lately. Having a nice, dense energy bar was a great switch.

The texture is exactly what you want from a “No B.S.” bar—substantial and satisfying. The Honey Cinnamon stands out because it has a warmth to it that the Dark Chocolate (while good!) just doesn’t match for me.

Final Thoughts

Yes, I’d buy these again and yes, I’m looking forward to having a quick snack to bring with me for my short breaks at work. These bars fit the convenience factor perfectly and taste just fine.

Working retail means I don’t always have the luxury of a slow lunch, and these RXBARs have become a genuine lifesaver for those “power-through” shifts. At about $1.29 per bar, the value from Costco is hard to beat, especially when you consider you’re getting 10g of protein and real, recognizable ingredients like egg whites and oats.

What is your “must-have” snack for a long workday? Do you prefer something sweet like the Honey Cinnamon, or are you a die-hard chocolate fan? Let me know in the comments below!

If you are not a Costco member but still want to purchase these two flavors, they are available online. Start shopping now and keep your energy up!
