Berry Bliss in a Box: A Deep Dive into Mike and Ike Berry Blast

December 24, 2025 By David Gates

A white bowl filled with assorted Mike and Ike Berry Blast candies in front of the blue theater-sized box.

In our last candy review, we took a nostalgic trip with the Original Fruits, but I mentioned that I was already looking forward to exploring the rest of the Mike and Ike family. Well, the “future” arrived a lot sooner than expected, thanks to a last-minute school supply run and a weakness for all things berry.

The Five Below Find

The story starts on the very last day of school before winter break. If you’re a parent, you know the vibe: a mix of chaotic energy and the pure relief of the upcoming holidays. My son and I were out running a few errands when he reminded me that his class was wrapping up the semester with a movie day. Naturally, he needed some snacks to bring along.

We wound up at our local Five Below, which is basically a dangerous playground for anyone with a sweet tooth. As he was scouting out his own treats, I spotted it: the bright, blue-themed box of Mike and Ike Berry Blast.

It wasn’t even a question. It was an immediate decision to purchase, and I didn’t stop at just one box. I grabbed two—one for the “research” (the blog, obviously) and one to make sure I had a backup in case the first box “mysteriously” disappeared before I could get my camera out.

Don’t have a Five and Below nearby? You can always order them from Amazon and have them delivered. stock up now!

Confessions of a Candy Addict

My son headed off to school with his snacks, and I headed home with mine. Success, right?

Well, here is the honest truth from Fuzzy Monkey’s Kitchen: I am sitting here staring at this box, and I have a confession to make. I am a total Mike and Ike addict. I haven’t even set up my lighting or cleared the counter for photographs, and I’ve already started digging into the box. There’s something about that “FRUCHEWY” texture that makes it impossible to stop at just one.

If I don’t get these photos taken soon, I might actually find myself driving back to Five Below for a third box before this article even hits the site!

The Berry Blast Breakdown

If you’re a fan of the Original Fruits, the Berry Blast is like the cool, intense cousin. It swaps out the citrus and cherry for a more tart, focused flavor profile.

Inside the theater box, you’ll find five distinct flavors:

  • Wild Berry (Blue) looks more like purple to me.

  • Blue Raspberry (Light Blue)

  • Strawberry (Pink)

  • Blueberry (Dark Blue)

  • Peach Berry (Orange/Pink)

The Peach Berry is the standout for me—it adds a fuzzy, mellow sweetness that balances the “zing” of the Blue Raspberry.
