Another Clearance Score: Reviewing the Voortman Fall Favorites Cookies

December 30, 2025 By David Gates

Heads up! This article contains affiliate links. If you choose to purchase a similar product through one of the links below, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I genuinely use or would recommend.

An assortment of Voortman Fall Favorites cookies—a red leaf, a golden turkey, and a yellow pumpkin—on a white plate in front of the product packaging.

One of the best things about being a savvy shopper is that the hunt never truly ends. If you’ve been following our kitchen adventures, you know that shopping different stores often reveals different bargain items in various quantities. Just recently, we shared our “heist” of the Voortman Pumpkin Spice Wafers, which we snatched up for a mere $1.50. It was a post-season win that hit the spot without breaking the bank.

Well, lightning has struck twice! During a visit to a different store, I happened to glance at the clearance rack, and what did I find? The Voortman Fall Favorites cookies were sitting there, marked down to that same magical price of $1.50. Naturally, I couldn’t pass it up. Can’t get enough Voortman cookies, start shopping now!

Trying Something New

Honestly, I’ve never purchased these specific cookies before. Usually, I stick to the classics, but the price was right, and it felt like the perfect opportunity to see if the rest of the Voortman lineup lived up to the wafers. If you saw our last post, you can see exactly where this is headed—we are on a mission to sample our way through the season!

I can imagine at some point we will try all the wonderful items in the Voortman catalog. But for now, let’s dive into our take on these Fall Favorites.

First Impressions: Size and Artistry

When I got these home, the first thing that struck me was the size. These are big cookies! I wasn’t expecting such a large footprint; perhaps I’ve just been conditioned by the standard-sized Oreos or the basic chocolate chip cookies you find in a typical grocery bakery.

The packaging is also worth a mention. They come in a handy press-and-seal package, which is a nice touch for keeping things fresh. Upon opening, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well-presented they were. Each seasonal shape has its own separated place in the tray.

You have the Pumpkin, the Leaf, and the Turkey, all nestled nicely in their own little slots. Looking at them up close, the detail is actually impressive. The Leaf has a deep red crystalline sugar coating that catches the light, while the Turkey and Pumpkin are dusted with golden-brown and yellow sugars that give them a festive, sparkling appearance. It’s a small detail, but it makes the experience feel a bit more “premium” than your average bag of cookies.

The Taste and Texture: An Honest Breakdown

Now, let’s get down to the “crunch” of the matter—the taste and texture. I’m going to be honest here: these cookies are dry.

The taste itself is perfectly fine; it has those warm, autumnal notes you expect from a fall-themed treat. However, the mouthfeel is a bit of a challenge. Eating a whole cookie leaves your mouth with a feeling very similar to when you eat a handful of saltines. They really dry out your palate, and you’ll quickly find yourself looking for something to wash them down.

Luckily, if you’ve spent any time at Fuzzy Monkey’s Kitchen, you know I’m a dedicated coffee and tea drinker. For me, the dryness wasn’t a dealbreaker at all. In fact, when I was sampling these, I had my morning coffee right there with me, and the pairing was excellent. Those sugar crystals on top actually provide a nice little “melting” effect when paired with a hot beverage.

In order to provide an honest review, I must convey to the reader that you are headed for a dry cookie. I can almost imagine this is the type of biscuit British royalty would snack on during a formal high tea—something meant to be dunked or sipped alongside a hot Earl Grey.

Quick Stats & Nutritional Breakdown

For those of you who like to keep an eye on the details before you dive into the clearance bin, here is the breakdown from the back of the pack:

  • Serving Size: 1 Cookie (18g)

  • Calories per Serving: 90

  • Total Fat: 3.5g (4% DV)

  • Total Carbohydrates: 12g (4% DV)

  • Sugars: 4g (Includes 4g Added Sugars, 8% DV)

  • Protein: 1g

  • UPC: 067312051779

Ingredients Note: These cookies are made with enriched wheat flour and vegetable oils (canola, palm, and palm kernel). They contain no artificial colors or flavors and no high-fructose corn syrup. Note for those with sensitivities: they contain coconut, egg, milk, soy, and wheat, and may contain almond or pecan.

Final Thoughts

I can honestly say I’ve had them, tried them, and enjoyed them for what they are—especially at that clearance price point. While they might not replace the Pumpkin Spice Wafers as my absolute favorite, they certainly earned their spot on the tea tray.

Now that we’ve got these two Voortman bargains reviewed and settled, it’s time to shift gears. We have some yogurt reviews in the pipeline that we need to get back to, so stay tuned for those!
